Introduction:

Audemars Piguet is a Swiss, luxury boutique watchmaker founded in 1875 by Jules - Louis Audemars and Edward -Auguste Piguet. The founding partners, both descendants of great watchmaking families, decided to join forces to create a luxury brand like no other seen at the time. J.L. Audemars was responsible for the technical production of the luxury timepieces and E.A. Piguet managed the business aspects of the company.

Located in Le Brassus in the Swiss Vallee de Joux, the company remains a privately held organization and holds true to the traditional Swiss watchmaking heritage of the land to this date.

Initially, Audemars Piguet started in the pocket watch business; manufacturing timepieces with various complications. As times changed, the brand graduated into the wristwatch era of watchmaking, eventually launching the Royal Oak series in 1972.

The Audemars Piguet "Safari" Royal Oak Offshore features a self - winding mechanical movement, powered by the natural motion of the wrist. The AP "Safari" features the brands' own in-house Calibre 3126 / 3840 manufacture movement made up of 365 individual parts cast in precious metals.

On top of its beautifully designed movement, the timepiece features a chronograph complication complimented by the signature "Mega Tapisserie" patterned dial in white with small windows for the second, minutes, hours and date window branded with the AP insignia.

Continuing on with the specifications of the AP "Safari" - the case is made of stainless steel, sapphire crystal, complimented with black rubber pushers and a screw down lock crown embellishing AP's signature porthole inspired bezel.

The "Safari" is one of 6 different variations of the Royal Oak Offshore series and one of the most beautiful by far. The timepiece is secured to ones' wrist by a beautifully crafted bracelet made from horned-backed alligator accompanied by the AP signature folding clasp in stainless steel.
