Golfing Legend Tiger Woods Top Rolex Picks
Tiger Woods is undoubtedly one of the greatest golfers of all time and his ability on the world’s top golf courses has also helped to cement his status as a role model and a style icon. Indeed, Woods attracts attention everywhere he goes and people are always keen to know the products he is using and the items he is wearing.
In particular, there is often a great deal of interest in the luxury watches Woods wears and he is known to have an impressive collection. In fact, since signing a deal to become an official Rolex ambassador back in 2011, he has been seen wearing a number of impressive models. In this blog post, we take a closer look at them.
Rolex Deepsea 116660 Ceramic Black
The watch Woods is most strongly associated with is the Rolex Deepsea – a watch which he claims has been around the world with him close to ten times over. Part of the reason the golfing legend has such an affinity with this particular model is because his hobbies include free diving and scuba diving.
“I need a watch that is very reliable, that’s why for me the Rolex Deepsea is a natural fit,” Woods told the Rolex website. “I love the way it feels. It’s heavy, it’s sturdy, it’s very manly. I like the fact that I’m able to wear my watch in all different types of environments and with all different types of outfits.”
Rolex Day-Date II 218239 President 18k White Gold
After forming an official partnership with Rolex back in 2011, the very first timepiece Tiger Woods became associated with was the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date II. Indeed, this was the watch the winner of 79 official PGA Tour events was seen wearing in most of the early publicity photographs after the deal was signed.
The precise model worn by woods has an 18k white gold case and a 41mm case size, with a fluted bezel. It features a Rolex ‘President’ bracelet and has a retail price of around $35,000.
Other Swiss Watch Models
Tudor, which operates as a subsidiary of Rolex, was actually the first luxury watch company to approach Tiger Woods in an official capacity and way back in 1997, he served as the face of the Tudor Prince Chronograph. Between 1999 and 2002, the company produced bright-colored models, with the word ‘Tiger’ on the dial.
Prior to his partnership with Rolex, Woods also had a deal with TAG Heuer and the company also produced limited edition ‘Tiger Woods’ models in 2003. Among the TAG Heuer timepieces believed to be in the golfer’s collection are the TAG Heuer Link and the distinctive, square-shaped TAG Heuer Golf.
